Can you install a 500GB Gen4 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD with a 15mm height and heatsink on your MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO Carbon motherboard? I'm concerned about the thickness, as it may affect compatibility.

Certainly, you're right—it won't work with just the motherboard's head spreader.

Skip the NVMe's built-in cooling element and opt for the MoBo alternative.

I observed that the Corsair MP600's heatsink relies solely on metal clips for attachment. Many motherboards come with an NVMe headspreader included in the case cover.

Thanks! Your idea sounds great. I'll get the SSD and take out the heatsink, then install the one that's already on the motherboard.
