I'm working on assembling my first PC and usually verify the setup before putting it in the case. But my motherboard isn't showing any signals when I power on the PSU. There are no LEDs lighting up and the monitor connection doesn’t work either. The PSU fan also doesn’t start rotating. If I plug the 24-pin connector into the tester that came with the PSU instead of the motherboard, then the fan does begin spinning. This suggests the board isn’t getting power at all, though one of my attempts to fix it involved updating the BIOS via the I/O panel. The flashing process failed, but the light behind the button briefly lit up for about five seconds—so it seems the board is receiving power.

Here are my details:
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI ATX AM4
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3.4 GHz 8-core
- PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-750, 750W, 80 PLUS Gold
- Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition
- Additional components: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4, Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2, ASRock Radeon RX 6700 XT

Previous troubleshooting steps:
- Inspect all power cables
- Reseat all parts
- Test PSU with included tester (it powers on and spins)
- Attempt BIOS flash via 'Flash Bios' button
- Tried several BIOS versions, most recently 7C91v22
- Cleared CMOS by shorting pins or removing battery briefly

Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I’m hoping someone can suggest further actions or confirm whether the board itself might be faulty.

It could be easy, but verify your front panel connectors and confirm they’re placed properly (Defo has made that error several times).

The assembly isn’t yet inside the case. There’s nothing attached to the front panel connectors. It matches the picture you shared; your power switch pins are located in the upper right corner, just to the left of the empty area.

Hi, I encountered a similar issue and have tried similar steps and no luck. I wonder if it happens that you have resolved the issue somehow?
