MSI G41M-P25 does not start up properly
Hello everyone, I'm working on assembling a "retro system" around 2010 using budget components from eBay. I'm facing issues with displaying any video on the screen. I've tried several steps: re-seating the CPU twice, testing various RAM modules (four sticks, different configurations), switching to an onboard graphics card, clearing CMOS via jumpers and removing the battery, unplugging everything except essentials, and adjusting the FSB control switches. Despite these efforts, the system powers on normally but the fans run at near maximum speed, sometimes slowing down before speeding up again. I don't see any debug indicators. My motherboard specs are: MSI G41M-P25, Core 2 Duo E8400, one or two 2GB DDR3-1333 sticks (one Samsung, one Hynix). I'm using an EVGA 512MB GeForce 8400 GS or Gigabyte GT 1030, Thermalfly Delta 6 cooler, and a 350W SeaSonic PSU. I've checked the pinned discussion in this thread and can confirm I've already tried everything. This board seems straightforward and doesn't show any trouble codes. Any suggestions or further guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The CPU was failing and only ran once during startup before I swapped it out with a new one from a damaged Dell unit.
