Hey everyone, I just completed the build in the Fractal Terra case I purchased. When I power on the system, the CPU and DRAM debug lights come up. I’ve re-soldered the RAM, CPU, and cooler. I included photos of both the old MSI motherboard (full socket) and the new ITX one (partial socket). The same RAM and CPU functioned on my previous MSI B650P board. The ITX board’s pins seem a bit unusual but I’m not sure what to make of them. Here are the build specs: AMD Ryzen 7700X, MSI MPG B650i edge WiFi motherboard, ASUS TUF 4070, 2x16GB G.Skill Fury RAM, Cooler Master V850 SFX, Samsung 980 Pro SSD, and a Noctua L9A-AM5 cooler.
They indicate they are active while the machine operates or while the OS isn't loading. I'm clarifying whether this refers to basic operation or a boot issue. Some users noticed the LED lights being on could cause concerns even if everything else functions normally. Please examine the pin at the bottom-right of the socket closely—using a magnifier and proper lighting can help determine if it's misaligned or problematic.
I don’t notice anything on the screen when you power it up and leave it running. The image you mentioned shows your old motherboard, which functioned properly. The other photo is the one with the suspect you’re referring to—it’s just a picture of your current board. I’ve heard some odd reports about debug lights appearing during boot, but there’s no sign of any startup activity. There’s no video output, and the system doesn’t perform the restart sequences typical for AM5 systems.
I appreciate the explanation. Regarding the image, I notice a pin near the edge of the socket that seems misaligned. I also have a board with a loose pin inside; when I swap the CPU, it shifts and resets properly. You might test that approach to check if it resolves the issue. Just proceed with caution—it should be simple and requires only careful placement (like straight up or down) to secure it.
