MSI B550 tomahawk supports high-speed WiFi and NVMe storage options.
I just received a new board that looks almost the same as the current one (the current model is identical without WiFi). My second NVMe Gen 4 drives are working perfectly in the bottom slot. I thought, with a bit of luck, it would function the same on the WiFi board, but it doesn’t recognize it at all. The specs say Gen 4 top and Gen 3 bottom. I’m using a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro in the top as a C-drive. My question is, can I install a 2TB (or more) 970 EVO drive in the second slot and it will work fine? I mainly use the second slot for storing games to keep things tidy, but I want to make sure before spending more money.
I can definitely help with that. Let me know if you'd like me to rephrase or adjust anything.
It's puzzling that the Bt550 tomahawk boards are labeled as Gen 4 for the top section and Gen 3 for the bottom, especially since you have a working Gen 4 unit at the bottom but no WiFi.
