MSI B550 Tomahawk doesn't allow posting or use BIOS flash.
recently I managed to improve my old machine a bit. i upgraded it with an msi mag b550 tomahawk (not the maximum), ventus 2x gtx 3060, 12gb ram, 32gb t-force ddr4 memory, a sama xp 1000w modular psu, and a ryzen 7 5800x. everything fits inside a phanteks p500a case. the issue I’m facing now is that it doesn’t boot at all, even after what i thought was a proper setup. when i tried to power it on, i got 2-9 red blinks, then either nothing appeared or my flash drive showed a solid red light. the flash port stayed lit or the drive had a constant light. no matter how long i waited, it didn’t work, and the ez-debug strip showed no lights. it took a long time to reach this point, so i’m worried about having to return it. i considered sharing my troubles on various forums to see if anyone had similar problems. before i decide to give it back, i’ll look for some suggestions online.
Hi, I think the power supply unit or the motherboard might be the issue here. First, try replacing the PSU to rule that out. Even if other components fail, it won't matter. You could also test another PSU or use a PSU tester—it's not cheap but very helpful. When you're ready, remove everything except the essentials needed just to boot. Don't include a display; rely only on the debug LED for guidance. Remove the graphics cards, clear the CMOS, and use just one RAM stick. If it boots, gradually add components one by one, increasing by one at a time.
