The NVMe SATA SSD only works in the upper slot, not the lower one. The second NVMe device in the lower slot is recognized as a USB external SSD—why? And can I fix this issue?

It might be the initial NVMe SSD that isn't functioning. Have you checked if the 970 model is installed in the first port?

I tried and succeeded, but placing the 1.nvme sata doesn’t work. When I put it above, it fails. Using 2.nvme.970 works and it’s correctly identified as an external SSD (USB).

it functions properly only in the top position 970, but it operates correctly in the lower slot. The system identifies it as USB rather than NVMe, resulting in a loss of 32GB from the external drive.

Your comment about losing 32GB from a 1TB drive seems typical for Windows. It’s not unusual, though it can feel a bit sluggish. As long as it functions properly, it’s still okay.
