I just bought a Ryzen 9 3900x, B450 Tomahawk max and some new DDR4 RAM. After assembling everything, the red CPU light appeared on the motherboard. I updated the BIOS, reset the CMOS, rearranged my RAM, and even replaced the PSU because the old one wasn’t providing enough power. Recently, I noticed the socket on the motherboard makes a loud click when releasing the tension arm. I’m not sure if this is normal for this board. A video of the issue is linked below. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, no bent pins on the CPU were found.

Additionally, the tension arm operates solely when the CPU is seated in the socket. I’m unsure if this behavior is typical for an AMD socket.

The system functions properly with the LED active. Everything operates as expected.

All systems activate, fans whir, motherboard lights illuminate, the mouse RGB flashes briefly before shutting off. I’m not getting any video output and can’t access the BIOS.

Consider using a different GPU temporarily. Your Tomahawk had issues after a swap, but fixing it often involved resetting CMOS or checking memory. Try booting with just one card if you haven't already.

Did you inspect the 8pin CPU power connector at the top left? It might be a faulty flash, and you could try reflashing version 7C02v18.

I also attempted to start with one stick in A2, but I'll give it another shot tomorrow morning. The CPU performance is fully linked.

Sure, I understand. If I can't get it to work today, I'll return it.
