AMD issued an official announcement stating that all 400 series boards will work with the 4000 series. This change cannot be undone because it alters the BIOS format and eliminates support for earlier CPU generations.

Sure, that makes sense. I was concerned about the price changes between my B450 and the new models. Thanks for the update. With a 3600, I should be fine upgrading my BIOS to that version.

Hello! Please let me know if you're in the right forum. I have an MSI Tomahawk Max B450 motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3700 CPU. I'm a beginner builder and have a Corsair 850x PSU, a GFX RTX 2070 Super GPU. I'm having trouble getting it to boot and have watched several YouTube tutorials and read the motherboard manual. I'm really stuck—any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The computer is powering up but the screen remains dark. This might be due to an outdated BIOS that doesn't recognize the Ryzen 3000 processor, or it could be caused by a loose connection, faulty RAM, or improper GPU installation. I recommend testing with another type of RAM or checking the RAM slots. Try removing the GPU, reinserting it, and see if the PC starts. If that fails, remove the CPU carefully—avoid tilting it—and reinsert it properly. Be cautious as the CPU might stick to the cooler. If you need further help, let me know.
