i was searching for AMD motherboards and had two choices: the MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX priced around 117 usd, or the MSI X570 Gaming Plus at 163 usd. since i plan to use an R5 3600, i’m considering which is better. both models are in stock with free shipping, but i think the B550 Pro a might be a better fit.

Consider alternatives like B550 MSI Gaming A Pro, B550m tuf gaming, or B550m MSI Mortar. For a more budget-friendly option, try B550m Aorus Pro or B550m Asrock Pro4 Edit. Keep in mind B550 doesn't support 2nd or 1st generation Ryzen.

Check availability for the Prime X570-P. If you're using Zen 2, opt for the B550 instead.

The x570 works fine. Could you share your budget for a board and tell me what you're matching it with?

They're comparable to B450 models in delivering performance to the CPU. Unless you require features like PCIe 4, it might not justify extra cost unless you need additional M.2 or USB ports (port details pending). Other X570 and even B550 variants exist as alternatives.
