MS 7952 motherboard attempting to upgrade RAM (DDR2). I have two slots with two 2GB x 2 RAM chips. They are only AMD-compatible. Are there any refurbished options available? I aim for the optimal configuration. I need a workstation for basic client notes and playing Call of Duty World at War: Nazi Zombies—though the PC is already capable. It feels quite slow when opening programs or even starting up. Edited January 1, 2023 by NitzGuy I added more images of my setup.

In that scenario upgrading to an SSD would provide significant advantages, while RAM offers limited benefit here. ~Note: I'm uncertain if the system's bus can handle full performance from it. Uncertain about suitable DDR2 options or whether the used market still has viable choices given its age. Three generations behind now.

Consider browsing eBay for a RAM upgrade. Check the specifications to ensure compatibility, and opt for an 8GB module. Aim for a minimum of 8GB (two 4GB units). Upgrading your storage is also wise—even a 240GB SSD can significantly improve performance compared to your current HDD. For older setups, faster boot speeds won’t be drastic, but they’ll still be noticeably better than the slow HDD you’re using.

I've included more images; it's unclear if they assist with recognizing other problems. Appreciate your support thus far.

You'll need two 4GB kits or a 1x4GB kit paired with a 2.5" SSD. Ensure the motherboard supports PC2-6400. Any of these components should fit.
