Hello, So I would like to transfer all my files and OS from a WD 500GB HDD to a Samsung 500GB 870 Evo SATA 3 2.5". Any help on how to do it? I just wanna know in forward on how to do it or do I need to prepare my HDD for it. Many thanks!

Navigate to the Data Migration Software section at the bottom. Scroll past the drives that can be cloned—this creates a perfect replica with full registry and file configurations. Simple and straightforward.

Make sure your SSD matches the same size as your HDD or bigger, otherwise there should be no problems. I think Samsung offers a free discount for it.

Yes, the HDD got smaller because of bad sectors.

You can adjust sizes from bigger to smaller as needed, provided the data fits. I’ve mainly worked with Samsung devices, but I’ve also used large drives to small SSDs using Macrium Reflect. As long as the source or destination is a Samsung drive, you can rely on their tools.

Samsung's utility supports moving data to a smaller drive, provided your storage capacity doesn't exceed what the SSD offers.
