Observed the issue when powering off the PC and moving the mouse—it lights up clearly, indicating current flow from the USB port. Seeking a way to stop it without turning off the power supply unit. The operating system is Rampage V.

I think the "AI charge" function intentionally limits power to USB ports when the device is off, allowing charging of peripherals. It seems best to disable it rather than adjust settings through the problematic AI Suite software. Enabling or disabling it might be limited to those specific tools, not the BIOS.
Naah it's not the suite,there is no such option in the sofware,must be some feature in BIOS. Just ran through manual no such options under power managment nor usb settings... weird one if I switch to the keyboard nope it doesn't light up...how come mouse lights up and kb doesn't?
It's actually a software update—specifically the "USB Charger+" plugin for AI Suite. The current version no longer includes it; you need to download an older release from the site, which contains all the necessary plugins. Version 1.01.01 dated 2015/09/09 should work. Install just that plugin and it will appear as an additional line in AI Suite. You can turn it off there. Deleting the motherboard software might be a good idea. It might also help to switch to a different USB port, possibly the "ROG Connect" one, which keeps power.
