You might want to test with another drive to see if the issue persists. If it doesn't, examine Power Settings to rule out USB port restrictions, which are rare. A BIOS update could also be a good option.

Consider using a DDU. It might indicate the GPU is starting up.

I can handle that—it may take some time, but I have multiple drives available on the PC. Regarding the BIOS update, I just installed one yesterday without any improvements, and I checked the power settings first, so that’s not the issue either. Thanks for letting me know. I also tried a clean GPU installation, but no changes were made. When I tried to launch a game to test the problem again, the keyboard stopped working completely. I still have a spare GTX 1060, so I might try that to see if it’s related to the GPU.

I’m increasingly focusing on the mobile device as the source of the issue, though we’ll evaluate the outcome after a fresh setup.

I just completed multiple stress tests (Prime95, etc.) and everything is fine. UNTIL: I begin putting pressure on the GPU. My guess would be: - It might be a bad GPU - because problems appear right away. (uncertain if this relates to USB somehow) - It could be a bad PSU - not supplying enough power once the GPU turns on (CPU doesn’t need that much power to cause issues) - It might be a bad motherboard - assuming it has some strange issues when the GPU activates. I’ll still attempt a fresh Windows install just to be thorough.

Used a different GPU (old GTX1060) – problem appears fixed temporarily. PSU remains uncertain since the 1060 uses less power than the RX6800XT. Planning to test another backup GPU soon.

I’d go through everything else first. Then I’d update the UEFI to the newest release. Check that the latest AMD Chipset drivers are installed—though I’m sure your GPU should handle that already. If that doesn’t help and the issue affects multiple USB devices, I’d suspect the power supply unit is the culprit. If not, it’s likely the motherboard. The GTX 1060 swap probably isn’t completely eliminating either the PSU or motherboard, though it could also point to the CPU.

Thanks - I agree, its a stron indication but no proof. Over the weekend I will ask a friend who has a spare PSU and test again. If the issue remains (with the RX6800XT) I shall order a new and Power hungry GPU (7800XT prolly) and see if the issue remains solved. Only that will prove the GPU to be the culprit. If the issue persists however, then I know it must the Mobo. CPU can be ruled out as I have tested with a 7600 before and had the same issue. I will post an update once I have news. If neither works I will probably be broke

It didn't function properly on the GPU. After a long gaming session the mouse reconnected, but it disconnected again. I'm trying it with another PSU and returning to the 6800XT for optimal performance.
