I just finished organizing cables for the fan upgrades I installed, including three fan hubs (double-checked for safety). When I booted up my PC, it ran both operating systems and adjusted the fan curves. After some tweaking, I went back to BIOS and made further adjustments. I experimented with fan settings and thought everything was okay until I tried discard changes and exited. Then the problem began. As the PC restarted, a BIOS error about USB overcurrent appeared. I turned it off, removed all hubs, and tried again, but the issue stayed. Even without any hubs, every USB port on the motherboard triggered the same warning. I inspected the motherboard jumpers and found none damaged, no smoke or damage signs, and everything seemed normal. After reassembling, I attempted to boot without a mouse or keyboard, which worked fine, but the system still reported errors. What’s happening? It doesn’t look like a hardware fault—could something have been affected when I selected discard changes and exit? My BIOS version is v1403. Edit 1: Either my original keyboard and mouse are faulty, or the system has blocked them. Using a different keyboard and mouse works, but if I use the originals, it won’t power on or respond properly while generating the overcurrent warning. Should I try a CMOS reset?

The gaming mouse is the issue—it seems to have short-circuited unexpectedly.
