Uncertain if anyone can assist, but nothing to risk. I recently attempted to link my Xbox Kinect v2 to my PC using USB. The Kinect connected properly via USB 3.0, and everything functioned except the USB controller. I found a forum post suggesting a 3.1 USB SS connection is required for the Kinect. Therefore, I bought a PCIe X4 card with two 3.1 USB SS ports. Since my motherboard doesn’t have PCIe X4, I used two PCIe X1 and two PCIe X16 cards. I connected the X4 card to the PCIe X16 slot, as instructed. Windows doesn’t recognize or detect it. I added a few BIOS screenshots and my motherboard images to help clarify the issue. My first PCIe X16 is taken by the graphics card, and the second PCIe X16 holds the X4 (3.1 USB SS). There are also some BIOS screenshots I took, though I’m not sure if they’re correct. Please let me know what you think. Pawel Edited May 16, 2020 by Pawel Dawid Syrek Added further details

Card details remain unchanged. USB 3.0 matches USB 3.1 SS. The renaming from USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 Gen1 is consistent across versions. It's similar to USB 3.1 SS being the same as USB 3.0 SS, which aligns with USB 3.0 SS again. This creates a confusing cycle of naming. The USB organization seems to have stopped focusing on clear naming conventions.

Thanks for reaching out, Jaslion! I’ll wait for your update. When I link the Kinect directly to my USB 3.0 port on the motherboard, everything functions normally except the USB controller appears red. I need to check the Kinect depth and color streams—there’s a brief green flash followed by a return to red. It seems like the Xbox Kinect briefly powers on before shutting off and restarting in a loop. I recall using it with an MSI BIG BANG-XPOWER II board, and everything worked fine then. My current board is a Huananzhi X79-8D, but the XP Power failed. Could someone else have a similar issue? I’m not sure if anyone else has encountered this, but I’ve seen others report the same behavior. If you think of creating a new thread, please let me know!

Could a power problem affect the USB hub you're using? It might help to try it elsewhere.
