Hello, I'm working on swapping my CPU and forgot to update the BIOS before installing the new one. When I put the old CPU back in, the system seems fine but won't power on. The boot light appears, so I'm unsure what's wrong. I've been advised to remove the CMOS battery to reset the CTCRTC or something similar, but I can't locate it.

You didn't specify the exact model, so I assume it's the X470-i with a different CMOS battery.

Are you sure you haven’t altered the BIOS settings? Make sure the system is properly reset.

No, that won't work. The new CPU needs to be used directly for turning it on. Switching back to the old CPU won't apply the updates properly.
