I own an Asus Crosshair VI and really appreciate the motherboard design. The only downside is the absence of a PS/2 port. After checking available options, it appears the best workaround is using a PCIE to PCI adapter followed by a PCI PS/2 card. This setup might work but comes with compatibility challenges. I’m aware that PCIE to PCI connections have their own limitations, which explains why this solution isn’t ideal. If you can, I’d prefer to skip active PS/2 to USB converters since they cause issues like the 6-key rollover problem. Do you have any alternative suggestions?

It's used to connect a PS/2 port for devices like keyboards, mice, or other peripherals that require that interface.

It's a bit puzzling, but you're asking about the logic behind needing more than six key rollovers when you only have five fingers. The answer lies in how devices handle input and keyboard layouts.

Yes, there is a PCIe PS/2 card, but it uses a USB connection instead. That might not be the answer you were looking for. Special PCIe PS/2 cards are available for industrial use, though they come at quite high costs.

Refers specifically to the pure PCIe PS/2 cards.

Many industrial resources remain restricted due to paywalls and specialized needs. Similar challenges exist for medical-specific equipment and hardware.
