Motherboard issue detected, RGB not working. Urgent assistance needed!
Hello, I recently set up my first workstation threadripper and everything worked well. Today, while installing an extra RGB cable from my Coolermaster 360 AIO Tr4 edition, I mistakenly connected it to the 4-pin RGB header on my ASUS motherboard. After turning it on, smoke and burning occurred. I immediately powered off the PC and removed the cable, but noticed some damage to the header. After a short wait, I restarted it and it reported a post-boot error about the CPU fan header not being correct. It guided me to check the BIOS, which restored everything to normal. CPU temperatures remained between 20-35°C. I’m unsure if there’s a deeper problem and didn’t know how to verify further. I shut down the system afterward. It was a mistake, but could you offer advice on checking for hidden issues?
Based on its freshness, you may wish to save it, just in case it leads to issues later due to relying on the burnt pin from eight months prior.
I was purchasing components, bit by bit after receiving them all, I assembled it yesterday and finished today so much.
I'm having the same issue as you with your RGB connector, but your PC works fine. Everything seems normal now—no changes to the motherboard or anything else.
