I’m considering purchasing an ASUS ProArt B760 Creator and looking into a Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM kit from a friend. I heard some people say they’re not trustworthy, cause issues, and can cause crashes. Is that accurate? For a 2x16 DDR5 setup, what other options should I explore?
DDR5 performs exceptionally well! It has been used in over 100 systems without any problems. However, I rarely exceeded 6000Mhz CL30 since beyond that the benefits fade and it remains quite reliable.
Your computer runs DDR5 and has never experienced any crashes. That's not what your friend said.
Which speed range were you checking? It really impacts stability more than the manufacturer. DDR5 works just fine, but many high-speed kits fail at those speeds due to CPU constraints.
They’re all running smoothly enough without any problems. For choosing a model, I’d consider a 6000 CL30 or 6400 CL32 instead if available. The decision would also hinge on the tRCD compatibility. The 6000 CL36-36-36 kits generally outperform the 6000 CL36-44-44 or 6400 CL36-48-48 versions. If you’re purchasing used, checking the version number can help—starting with a 5 (like 5.43.13 or 5.33.01) suggests it’s suitable for a manual 6400 CL32 overclock if needed.
