A standard board with food input and VRM setup is sufficient. Most B450 models arrive with updated BIOS today, which means they should work with X570, B550, and MAX boards—Max being the MSI brand. Check the packaging for a sticker indicating Ryzen 3000 readiness. For the processor, consider getting a B550 Strix or similar if you need it. If you plan to use CUDA, go ahead. Review the points @TofuHaroto discussed. Also, were you intentionally choosing two RAM sticks for a total of 64GB? If yes, I’d just opt for two 32GB modules. These seem like a solid choice and are slightly more affordable. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kGjNnQ/...c16d-64gvk

Many factors come into play, such as efficiency, choke quality, MOSFET performance, VRM controller, and heatsink effectiveness. All the boards I recommended performed well.

Thanks in advance. I only picked a few parameters and arranged them by price per GB. It’s still a rough estimate to understand the overall cost.

Discussing getting too deep is part of the process... I think I'll go with one of your ideas. It seems like I'm short on time to review all the datasheets for every possible board, no matter how intriguing they are. I thought this would be a good spot to ask this question (I usually don't post on forums). Appreciate your thoughtful feedback.

Hey, I see the warning about needing an extra 4-pin connector for power on PCPartPicker. After trying various supplies and narrowing it down to '8 pin + 4 pin', you found two viable options. Would a Corsair RMx 650 Gold work with the ROG Strix B550 F? If not, what specifications should I look for in a power supply? Thanks again!

The 4-pin connection isn't required unless you're pushing to 2x overclocking, since the 8-pin offers 384 watts—more than enough for a 3900x.

Sleeping was a joke, but it’s true what @gloop mentioned. It’s helpful for heavy or extreme overclocking. One 8-pin chip can deliver up to 384 watts, and paired with a Ryzen processor, you won’t be far behind anytime soon.
