Only faster RAM makes up under 10% of overall system performance. That’s not very helpful. If your memory is low, boost the RAM. It’s that easy.

It seems my gaming speed is affected by RAM, particularly when a browser runs in the background while playing music. Adding background tasks can cause a 40 FPS drop, even though my CPU and GPU aren't heavily used.

It’s clear by its nature yes, throughput is likely what you’re seeking, especially when timing and speed are important. Question 2: Not necessarily. Your setup will utilize whatever memory is present and adapt accordingly—think of RAM as a buffer, storing commands for the CPU to handle efficiently.

The most recent time you updated or maintained Windows is unknown since this question focuses on past actions rather than current status. If it was happening during a specific task, it might be limited to that context.

Here’s a summary of your remaining system details. For example, high-speed RAM is often prioritized by AMD over Intel.

It seems you're weighing options for storage capacity. Consider going with 32GB as a more secure choice, since upgrading later would be challenging without replacing the entire system.

Consider selling your existing setup and go for a full replacement. Mixing different RAM kits can work, but keeping the system running smoothly can be challenging at times.

Gaming typically needs 16GB RAM. For optimal performance, use a double channel dual rank configuration, though this depends on the specific sticks. The timing settings are also crucial. Could you share your current RAM speed and timing details?

I plan to upgrade my entire setup soon, but I’m currently using Intel processors. I’m wondering if it’s better to replace my existing RAM with higher-speed options or stick with what I have and purchase a larger capacity unit instead.
