Hello, I'm from Montreal and recently set up a new PC. When gaming for a while, my monitor lost signal and the fans started spinning loudly. I've tried many fixes but nothing seems to work. My GPU isn't covered by warranty because it's an older 3090. I've already done things like a clean Windows 11 install and format, checked CPU and GPU temperatures with hwinfo, ran stress tests on AIDA64 for four hours without issues, and looked into event viewer logs. Even after turning off XMP, the problem persisted. The sounds continued even when the monitor went dead. I also uninstalled some ASUS RGB software after a clean install of Windows 11, but it didn't help. No one has responded to my Reddit post, and another forum thread with similar problems left without a solution. Can you help me find a way forward?

It might be due to faulty software or hardware at this stage. I’d suggest removing anything unnecessary from the machine—including storage—to test if posting becomes possible. If it still doesn’t post, a post error message should appear. High-speed fans could indicate excessive heat or problematic software. You may want to inspect your CPU mount as well.

This appears to be a driver-related issue. It seems temperatures shouldn't affect performance since the system can handle extended synthetic loads. Have you considered using an older driver? Ensure DDU is in safe mode to remove the existing driver. For future attempts, perform a force reset of the graphics driver by pressing Windows + Control + Shift + B.

Another note: no specific hardware was referenced; if it were a Ryzen model, drivers would come to mind right away.

Attempted several times with no success. Restarting the GPU driver didn’t help, and the computer remains stuck in that state until I press the physical reset button.

Sorry, I’m not sure how to make changes on a mobile device. My setup includes: 5800x stock TUF x570 plus Wi-Fi 3090 gaming OC 980 Pro, 1TB SSD, 4x8 3600MHz RAM, Corsair Vengeance RAM.

The device functions properly until a game is played, after which signal drops after a short period (10 minutes or 5 hours) while case fans run high. Under Aida 64, CPU and GPU usage didn’t cause overheating. However, games cause issues. The last change was switching my monitor to the new LG Oled 27-inch model with its accompanying display cable.

I’m leaning toward “probably,” though it’s still in contention. These artificial loads are made from synthetic materials. It might just be a portion of what’s warming up that isn’t affected by the synthetic load.
