Port 1.4 supports up to 4K at 120Hz or 4K at 98Hz based on available settings (as seen online), but it doesn’t reach 4K165Hz. If it doesn’t work, lowering the color settings might allow a higher refresh rate, though this means sacrificing image quality for an extra 20 Hz—an undesirable compromise.

DP 1.4 supports 4K at 240Hz using a fully deployed DSC, which seems to be the issue here. It’s hard to locate clear details about the RX580’s DSC capabilities.
