Monitor experiencing loss of signal during certain games, with the sole remedy being a restart?
My monitor has been experiencing issues with three particular games over the past month, two of which are quite light. The displayed warning reads "lost signal" and vanishes after just two seconds; the only solution seems to be powering off the PC and restarting it. Occasionally, holding a specific button on the monitor for five seconds—its function to shut down—resolves the problem, closing all open windows and redirecting me back to the start screen.
More than half of the time when the signal drops, the game audio stops completely. When it remains active, I attempt to interact with the game (jump, run, shoot, etc.) without seeing any visuals, yet I can't hear any sound. Instead, I only perceive other noises that aren't tied to my character, suggesting a possible keyboard issue. Usually, the audio doesn't cut off instantly; it becomes heavily distorted until it's unrecognizable.
I've already checked the GPU temperature, and everything was normal. Heat shouldn't be the cause. I also tried using the MSI afterburner and boosting fan speeds, but nothing changed. Although the room was cooler at the time, the signal loss persisted. On some occasions, I was talking to a friend over the phone, and he could still hear my voice even without a signal; on other occasions, his voice became distorted before it finally stopped.
I've experimented with changing the monitor cable, adjusted TdrDelay to 60, modified settings in the NVIDIA panel and Windows, removed the CMOS battery, cleaned the RAM, and reinserted the slots multiple times. None of these steps provided a lasting solution. Removing the CMOS battery worked for about two days (the most effective fix so far), but after a Windows update—after roughly six hours or more—the signal disappeared again. Reinserting it doesn't help anymore. My PC is one year old and only a few days old.
I apologize if my explanation was unclear; English isn’t my first language, and I’ve been aware of this for some time, but there are times I miscommunicate.
Husky Snow 23.6. I believe it's not the monitor since I experience signal loss from it occasionally, along with sound issues. When I don't hear anything, I use the keyboard, but it produces no noise (for example, when trying to move or run in the game). It's possible the signal is also lost for the keyboard. Alt + f4 doesn't help either, and sometimes the signal returns unexpectedly without restarting, which usually brings me back to the lock screen.
I believe it might relate to the RAM. I adjusted the memory settings in the BIOS and suddenly lost the signal when turning on the PC. It didn't require opening any games. Should I replace the RAM?
