Monitor defaults as the primary source for sound output.
You just installed a new PC and haven’t faced this problem before on your previous setup. The issue seems to be that the monitor is being set as the default audio device. After right-clicking the monitor and disabling it, it still appears as the default when you restart. You want a permanent solution without affecting other settings. This is running Windows 10 version 21H1.
It looks like you didn't find a solution to shift it. I adjusted it to the default setting, but it still keeps changing over.
Are you utilizing your monitor's speakers? If not, try disabling the audio chip in your monitor.
I don’t rely on them, and I won’t anymore. I looked at the monitor’s settings, but the only audio control is the volume, which is already set low. There’s no option to turn off audio in the display settings.
