I put the TPM module in and turned it on, but everything appears grayed out. The system doesn’t recognize it and it seems locked inside the BIOS. I ran a BIOS update, but it’s still at the latest version. My motherboard is an MSI A78M-e35, and she has the version 2 (A78M-e35v2). The TPM functions here, but not on my son’s board which uses version 1. I’m unsure why it’s grayed out or locked. I’ve tried all troubleshooting steps. Please note that the TPM option isn’t visible in BIOS when the module is removed, but it shows up when installed. However, the extra option remains hidden.

Did you turn off secure boot or leave it enabled? Also, are the UEFI options not set to legacy mode? Since I don’t have the board, I’m not certain—but adjusting some settings might resolve the issue. On other systems, enabling a BIOS password works, so it could be helpful. Why do you think I’m unsure?

I felt exhausted by everything; it doesn’t appear the TPM is set up in Device Manager either.

I haven’t attempted to configure a BIOS password yet. It seems this feature isn’t available. I’ve tried setting up the administrator and user passwords in BIOS, but it didn’t work.

The system only recognizes TPM 1.2, even though the 1.2 TPM was previously missing, while the updated version is now visible.
