Hello everyone, I’m facing an issue with GTA Online. I installed ScripHookV for singleplayer and found it enjoyable. Recently, while doing some additional modding (I’m still getting familiar with Glorious PC Gaming Master Race), I tried using the no water mod. I replaced the water.xml file with OpenIV each time I switched between single- and multiplayer modes. However, after updating to the correct water.xml file, I logged in and received a warning: “You have been banned from Grand Theft Auto Online, return to Grand Theft Auto V.” It then allowed me back into singleplayer on October 3rd. I’m curious if there’s a way to verify whether I’m running the vanilla version, since I don’t want to be banned again. Thanks in advance. By the way, I’m using the non-steam version.

The most secure option is to reinstall the game.

Removed the script hook file. Uncertain about OpenIV since I don’t use it, but without the script hook (and .NET), it won’t work with the mods, and that’s okay.

I'm not sure about the specific details, but you can usually find instructions for the non-steam version on the product's official website or support page.

I've never faced issues with scripthook, but I only encountered a ban after starting to use OpenIV.

OpenIV doesn’t offer a "revert to default" option, but you can reset settings or clear data if needed. You’ve been banned twice—appropriate—but missing the online experience is tough. Mods are tempting, though; R* can create private lobbies if you’re comfortable with that.

I’d love to try graphic enhancement tools online such as ENB’s. I don’t really like the plain, generic look, but it might be tough to stand out from other cosmetic options on Rockstar.

There is a program out (i forgot the name) that lets you set up private lobbies with your friends and enables you to use mods together. And i am pretty sure you can not get banned for it.

Check if the standard private lobby causes delays so you can avoid another ban.
