You can’t connect straight to 192.168.10.1 using your regular IP address because the network segment 10.1 is beyond your subnet range. The device forwards any data not in its local network to the default gateway, which is set up as the standard route for unknown addresses. However, your router isn’t aware of 192.168.10.1, leaving no path for the traffic. To resolve this, assign your computer a different IP such as 192.168.10.2 with a /24 mask (255.255.255.0), allowing access to the router’s interface at 192.168.10.1

This granted me access to my access points interface, allowing me to adjust settings. Thanks a lot (and everyone who helped). I feel more confident about IP addresses now—brwainer’s explanation was very clear. THANK YOU!!! I really enjoy this community.

You can also update your AP's IP address to match the same range as your hub, eliminating the need to adjust everything each time you access its settings.
