So i have this problem i got windows installed in my 128gb ssd (C drive) and everytime i install any program/file i have the default install route in that SSD, how do i change this ? Its really annoying and how do i avoid it in the first place ? Since i'm getting a new laptop with an ssd in it.
Even with a fresh Windows installation, there are still steps to ensure everything sets up correctly.
I don’t recall any method that works when the program prompts to move folders, even though there are options to relocate files like Downloads and documents to other drives for better storage.
They share the same computer, and whenever they update software it's stored on the SSD.
The process is optimizing storage by relocating files to another drive, which frees up space on the SSD and reduces write operations. It won't prevent program installation but shifts some data to another disk, potentially increasing boot times slightly. Loading files from an HDD should add only a few seconds, though.
