Hello once more... Back when Vista came out, I stayed with Winborg XP. It ran about 95% like XP but had all the unnecessary stuff removed and came packed with useful programs—like a custom BSOD screen saver that let me leave my laptop unattended in a Beijing café, even though most thought I was tired. When they released Win 8 (yuk), I considered switching to official Win7, but decided against it this time. Now I’m facing a similar situation again and wondering if anyone knows about a modded version of Win 10 that works well. Do people still do such modifications on modern operating systems?

Windows 10 updates can cause issues because they may overwrite modifications or lead to system instability. Manual updates need the Windows Update Service running quietly in the background, which sometimes triggers automatic updates. Blocking IPs of update servers might help, but it’s a hassle. Doing mods on Windows 10 is quite challenging compared to older versions like Windows 7 or XP.

Windows 10 updates and stuff seem a bit like a virus, huh? You really can't just wipe it out!

They haven't made any changes to my Windows since 1803.

I'm feeling pleased with the recent changes since I'm using an HDR display, and the latest patches have really improved things.

Thanks for the answers, everyone... I still feel like Win 10 is trying to copy iOS. You really can't use it unless you follow Microsoft's approach.
