Hey there! I just bought my first PC with a Ryzen 9 3900X and an RTX 3070. I'm curious about how much I can push Skyrim to 1440p. Thanks!

I’m capable of installing nearly any ENB you desire and running it at 4K high with ultra settings, achieving over 60 FPS on an R5 1600 or GTX 1070. It’s a powerful setup!

Of course. If I could run Skyrim VR at over 70fps, it would be manageable on your i7 9700K and RTX 2070. Also, are you playing Special Edition or Legendary Edition? The remastered version tends to have better optimizations for 64-bit systems.

Interesting performance depending on your FPS goals. My 2070 Super handled 60fps smoothly at 2K textures in 4K, even with extra mods. Adding an ENB brought the frame rate down to about 40fps, which still works. With an RTX 3070 and a 1440p display, you should be able to push it further.

Lol, I have a 5600X + 3080 and my game runs at 1440p barely at 60FPS outside. At 4K i wouldn't expect more than 40FPS if i'm lucky. But my game is modded into oblivion (ha, get it?). Currently on 700+ mods. Most of them for visuals. If you really want to get the best visuals out of it, you can get every PC on it's knees. Still waiting on them RTX implementation mods for even lower FPS

Choose the Special Edition for enhanced performance. The 64-bit improvements significantly boost speed and reliability with large mod collections.

I indicated I can handle most ENB devices, not every single one simultaneously.

You're referring to a project called "Intrigued ENB." To enhance the visual quality, you'll need to focus on textures, models, and level-of-detail settings. This process can become quite demanding. The main challenge is likely to come from the CPU later on. I experienced a significant improvement in Skyrim's frame rate—rising from 40 to 60 FPS after upgrading from Zen2 to Zen3. With enough effort, you can transform the game to feel like a modern high-end title.

You considered the 5600X and weighed options like a 5700 or 5700X with added features, or sticking with a cheaper 3900X.

Increased from 3700X to 5600X. Purchased the 3700X thinking it would protect against future upgrades, but I didn’t need the extra cores. Chose higher IPC instead, which suited my usage since I only play games 99% of the time. Luckily, I got one at launch price.
