I own a Compaq M2000 laptop from 2005. It originally had 1GB of DDR RAM and a Celeron M 350 processor. I’m considering upgrading to 2GB DDR2 or a faster CPU. An HP forum discussion suggested an Intel Pentium M 750 might work. I found a listing on eBay for a Pentium M 750 with cache, but I’m unsure about the details. Wikipedia mentions only 1GB support, though I don’t have a reliable source. Would it be worthwhile to try two 1GB RAM sticks instead?

Did you ever work on this project? I’m checking the same direction for the CPU, but it seems the board only supports 400Mhz variants, such as the Pentium M 745 at 1.8 Ghz. I got a brand new M2000 and am wondering if it’s worth any further steps.
