Hi, your Ryzen 5 1600 works well with an MSI A320M Grenade board. Your friend’s Ryzen 7 2700x should fit, but you’ll need to upgrade the BIOS for compatibility. The VRM layout on your motherboard should support the new CPU, so it should be fine as long as the upgrade is done properly.

On the MSI product page, it states that the CPU supports RYZEN 7. This confirms compatibility. A useful suggestion: Check manufacturer product pages beforehand—they often provide clear answers to common concerns.

I understand the motherboard is listed as compatible, but it also mentions support for the Ryzen 7 3700X. I’m concerned it might not be durable enough for that power level. Do you have anyone who’s used this configuration and knows what to expect?
