If swapping the PSU in this older PC would cause compatibility problems, you might face issues with a new PSU. This applies if you plan to use a modern PSU in the future.
In general, I wouldn’t anticipate any issues. It’s important to stick to the cables that come with the new/modern PSU. However, I’d carefully inspect each connection, pin by pin. Be cautious with adapters or special cables. Always review the relevant User Guides or Manuals before proceeding. Avoid cutting corners on the new PSU. Details count. There are no visible issues. For a PC with a dedicated GPU, Tier A is suitable. Examples include Seasonic Focus/Vertex/PRIME, Corsair RMx/RMi/HXi/AXi, and Super Flower Leadex Gold/Platinum/Titanium. The PSU tier list can be found here: [link]. Tier A will work fine; Tier A+ is better. A 550W unit performs adequately, while a 650W unit is also acceptable. All my two PCs are powered exclusively by Tier A+ PSUs. I own Seasonic PRIME 650 Titanium (Tier A+) and Seasonic PRIME Ultra 650 Titanium (Tier A+).
