Windstream is the only thing my family can access. We live in a very remote area. Yesterday wasn’t too bad; our TP-Link AC1900 worked perfectly, never giving us trouble. The control panel was top-notch. Now we’re getting an upgrade to 15mbps (previously it was 6, but actually 3). Some people from Nimrod think they understand everything. They claim we can’t use the router or that our old modem couldn’t handle 15mbps. But on their spec page, it said up to 30 downlink speeds. So they insist we must switch to this new model. That’s the worst I’ve ever seen. The Windstream Wi-Fi modem T3200 is incredible. The interface on the website is really frustrating to change passwords. There’s no bandwidth control like on our old router, and the speed is terrible. Recently, despite being told we need 15mbps, we’re only getting 0.5 with no one connected. The advertised 15mbps is actually just 0.5. This has been a nightmare in just one day. Trying to get help online is a struggle—people keep arguing and shouting instead of helping. So I’m looking for assistance here. Even though I won’t get much, I’d like to share this. Everyone have a good day. Also, Fortnite and CS:GO are not playable right now, with frequent lag and occasional kicks because of the poor connection. Just remember, no one else is on the network. I’ve switched to playing PC Building Sim, but that’s probably okay. EDIT: we’re paying $120 a month just for internet access...

You could purchase a modem and use the router you wanted yourself. Many US-based ISPs permit this, likely due to FCC regulations—unless Nimrod changed the rules. If not, check if they can integrate the modem into bridge mode; that might resolve the issue. This situation stems from the challenges of living in BFE, which is why I reside in a metropolitan area. Although I’m limited to a single ISP, it offers speeds up to 1 Gbps.

You might be able to earn a significant sum by helping someone install a fiber connection, especially if you're near existing networks.

I’m using a cable ISP instead of DSL. I’ve read prices going up to $50k, which isn’t funny. They charge for everything from the cables to the poles, making it costly to get service.
