Now that I have a solid setup again, I began customizing GTA IV. I downloaded icenhancer 3.0 and used the same textures from the original uploader. It’s performing well. Many people discuss the taxi issue, but I wasn’t sure if replacing cars instead of adding extras would reveal it. Are there any modifications that surpass icenhancer?

I have tried every mod out there for GTA IV. All mods that add cars or replace them cause the taxi bug. The fixes for that don't work good as well, because all they do is draw random cars from a pool of 10, which changes every couple of minutes. In game time it is 2h, which is a very long time and extremely anoying. There is nothing much that you can do to remedy that issue. The problem occurs because the engine is not designed to run higher quality models. Just for a comparison, the original cars are like 200-400Kbs, while the modded ones are like 2-10Mbs. Unless you want to install a trainer as well and change between cars liek that, there is no other option.

It seems you're aiming for great visuals in your game. Since you've done a fresh install and are using version 1.0.4.0, consider adding some recommended graphics packs or mods to enhance the experience.

1.0.7.0 is the newest release and fixes several game issues. I suggest upgrading to it. There are some interesting mods available for the city, but be careful—they can be quite resource-heavy, particularly the more extreme ones. I once owned an entire island next to the main one, roughly double its size, so you can picture the graphics becoming overwhelming and vehicles speeding through the sky. At that point, my GTX 770 Lightning was overclocked from 770 to 780 performance, which means some mods demand a lot of powerful graphics capabilities. There are also lighter modifications you can try. Updating all gas stations to realistic brands and adding dynamic buses that move around the city and pause at stops would be great. Additionally, more skins for weapons, radar displays, colored radio station logos, realistic blood effects, bigger explosions, and detailed fire effects could enhance the experience.

Thanks for the feedback...the version 1.0.7.0 isn't compatible with graphics mods such as icenhancer. I'm using a 4790k and a 970, so I'll look into alternatives. Appreciate your help.
