I had some friends over and they were playing GTA Online on my computer. I allowed them to play even though I didn’t have much money and wasn’t interested in how they spent it. When I came back, they said I had 10 million and spent a lot on random cars. Since I never had that kind of money, I’m pretty sure someone modified the game or something. I’ve invested many hours into this game and don’t want to get banned or have my progress reset because of it. I’m not sure what to do next.

they have no reason to target innocent players, they just ban the modder and then remove the money. in some cases you can even keep the cars that you recieved.

I wouldn't stress too much, pal. A modder dropped some cash when I started playing, but I never faced any trouble afterward. Just try not to turn it into a routine if you see others spending too much—people might notice. Also, the rockstar only seems to tidy up once a year, and the modding/hacking isn't being monitored closely, which is really frustrating.

Yeah, I was banned for using a modded server with my friends. We just joked around about spawning in PED and stuff. Hackers keep offering to teleport you to the top and sell their services online.

Someone tried to lock everyone up and took all my money for the ammo, which is really frustrating. Hope more game makers use the Titanfall method for dealing with cheaters—if you get caught, your account gets flagged and you end up playing only with other players who are also hackers. It’s a clever way to keep things controlled. Nice of them to think that way.

Modding is fine, but there should be a private online mode where things like money aren't affected. I quit playing GTA 5 because it becomes very dull after just an hour.

I enjoy playing GTA V still, but I get frustrated when modders place everyone in the same spot. Last time I got upset and started throwing grenades. Eventually I had to leave alone. I’ve met some friends who got banned for spending money given by a modder. They learned their mistake now—modders just keep their funds safe.
