There's also the issue with power, USB-C usually delivers more power than the USB-A in which case the PCI-e card is probably the better option

He should consider what he actually needs from the USB-C connection. Currently, few devices rely on USB-C besides phones and some expensive portable SSDs. If his phone is important for him and he wants fast charging and efficient file transfers, upgrading the case to support USB-C fully makes sense. Otherwise, a standard USB3 port should suffice. Looking ahead, more devices are likely to adopt Type C connectors.

It seems you're considering using an adapter to bridge SATA power to a USB-C front panel. That approach could work if SATA can deliver sufficient power, but be cautious—there are risks involved.

Well, building a fire could be effective. Charging devices won't be possible. USB-C can deliver up to 20V, which translates to around 6A, especially with smart chargers handling 120W devices. This allows me to charge power banks and a Bluetooth speaker through my desktop's USB-C connection, roughly doubling the power from USB 3.1 ports.

I’m among the rare buyers who purchased the lian li 011d evo plus the extra io kit without reviewing the notes about dual type e headers and two 19-pin usb 3.1 connectors. I already have a Gigabyte Aorus B550 Pro AC which only supports 19-pin usb 3.2 and lacks type e ports. I’m curious whether the pcie solution will function properly and if it provides enough speed and power for the devices you plan to connect.
