Mobo help
I’m just starting out with PC building and I’m not sure if this is the right time. There don’t seem to be any really exciting PS5 launch titles right now, and I won’t be purchasing one until Bloodborne 2 or another strong exclusive drops. I’ve already got a Ryzen 7 3700X and a new case, but I haven’t yet chosen a graphics card or a motherboard. Should I keep using the B450 Tomahawk MAX that many people suggest? My goal is to get a 2080 Super when the 3000 series launches and prices drop, but I’m also open to getting an X570 if the 3000s really outperform. My main priority is achieving 4K gaming at 60fps on my new monitor. Any advice would be appreciated!
Obtain an x570 motherboard which will prove valuable; these boards are affordable, often costing only a few dollars less than a B450 model. You'll receive PCIe 4.0 TB3 support that improves with newer CPUs, and you won't have to upgrade the BIOS for compatibility with 3000-series processors. Edit: I discovered that an MSI B450 board versus an MSI X570 board costs about $30 less.
