Mixing ram
Mixing ram
Varies by motherboard design. Typically, install RAM DIMMs in pairs. Adding extra sticks of the same size is acceptable. Keep in mind that performance will match the slowest component. Combining brands isn't an issue, but try to source two modules from the same manufacturer if you can. Also, ensure CAS latency remains consistent between new and existing DIMMs.
It should work properly; the RAM will operate at its slowest available speed.
