I own an Antec TruePower Quattro 850W (TPQ-850). At the time it was bought, some modular cables were absent. In particular, the two PCIe ports marked 12V3 (Y/B) and 12V4 (Y/G) lack their corresponding cables. Running a GTX 960, which only needs one 6+2 pin PCIe connector, hasn’t caused issues before. Now I’m considering an upgrade to an RTX 3070, which demands two 8-pin PCIe connectors.

While organizing the cables, I managed to route and conceal all extra cables behind the case, aiming to preserve the unit’s integrity unless absolutely needed. My main concern is whether the TPQ-850 originally includes two 6+2 pin PCIe cables. If not, should I use a standard 6-pin male to 6+2 pin male cable (16 or 18 AWG) for the second 8-pin connector on the RTX 3070? Should I connect via the 12V3 or 12V4 port?

I’ve attached a photo of the modular ports. Any guidance on suitable cables or safe alternatives would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. In an area where ordering original Antec cables isn’t feasible, the generic options are my best choice (provided the PSU doesn’t already supply two 6+2 pin connectors).

Unless you're keen on crafting your own cables, I wouldn't even think about it. It seems unlikely anyone has cables available for that purpose. I definitely wouldn't continue using that PSU, especially with a higher wattage demand. It appears to be a multi-rail design, which hasn't been common in the past. A decent 750W unit would suffice, and they're fairly affordable. A country and currency would help provide a more precise recommendation.

You're welcome both of you. I hadn't realized that if it's still operational, I should continue using it to prevent any potential issues. I've looked into some alternatives within my budget, and I'm in Pakistan where PKR is the local currency. The options include MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 (750 W), XPG Core Reactor II 850 W, and possibly the MSI MAG A850GL without heavy overclocking. I'm currently running an i5 6600K with an Asus Maximus VIII Hero, aware of some bottleneck concerns, and plan to upgrade to a newer CPU and motherboard in about three to four years.
