Recently upgraded to a Ryzen 5 3600 on an MSI X470 Gaming plus max. The BIOS and device manager indicate the correct CPU with 6 cores and 12 threads, but CPU-Z and AIDA64 display fewer cores and threads. This issue also appears in the kit I previously used and now by the user with a Core i5 6400 Skylake on an Asus Z170p. Is there a real hardware problem, a glitch in the reporting software, or is Windows having trouble with the new setup? It's strange both configurations experienced this after the change. Please share a screenshot of the AMD PC for reference. Thanks for any advice and suggestions. Long time reader, first-time poster.

Launch the task manager and verify the presence of all threads. If they are missing, it may indicate an issue with the still/CPU-Z version you're running.

It seems the main factor is the alteration itself. Were any hardware modifications made without reinstalling a fresh version of Windows 10? You might need to do that to fix the issue.

Sure, I'll consider that. I'll use the available formatted SSD to test it and share the outcomes soon. Appreciate the advice!

Launch "msconfig.exe", navigate to "Boot" section, select "Advanced options...". Check if any restrictions are defined.

Performed a reinstall on an additional storage device and, voilà! They returned. Appreciate Beerzerker and Eigenvector for their assistance.
