Hello,
Yesterday I experienced a significant issue. I was replacing my old HDD because I had just installed a 2tb SSD, which eliminated the need for it. While doing that, I also unplugged my watercooler pump (NZXT Kraken X73 360mm). After restarting the computer and beginning the latest COD download, I tried a few things but my friend suggested jumping onto Rust. It was extremely slow, so I restarted again and received a CPU overheating warning.

🙁
About 2 to 3 hours after the game started downloading and launching Rust, I noticed the pump wasn’t connected. I quickly turned it off and reconnected it. Do you think I should replace the thermal pad? I’m not sure if it’s urgent, but it was warm enough. Any advice would be appreciated.

Specs below:
Intel Core i7-10700K Comet Lake 8-Core 3.8 GHz LGA 1200
MSI PRO Z490-A PRO LGA 1200 Intel Z490
NZXT Kraken X73 360mm

If you mean it was cool enough to touch, I wouldn't worry. All processors, both CPU and GPU, have built in thermal limiters that significantly lower frequency or even shut down when too hot, which is likely why the game ran so slow.
It sounds like the thermal limiter kicked in fast enough to not even allow it to get very hot. The thermal ceiling on your 10700K is 100c, which is 212 degrees Fahrenheit. I really doubt the thermal pad was affected either.
