Hello everyone, I’d like to discuss a question I had while setting up my system. Recently, I upgraded my setup—updating the CPU, motherboard, and memory (keeping the GPU)—and got a Ryzen 5 5600X, a Gigabyte B550m-DSH3, and a Viper Steel 16GB (2x8) 3200MHZ RAM package. Since I mainly use my computer for image processing, I noticed that the RAM usage could spike quite high. To address this, I upgraded to a similar RAM kit. After installing the new modules in the first and third slots, turning on the PC without using BIOS (XMP was already active) everything functioned perfectly. For safety, I restarted and checked the BIOS, finding that the timings for each memory module were different. It turns out the chips from each kit came from different manufacturers, as shown in HWinfo. I did some research but couldn’t find any guidance on this issue. Would this be a significant problem? Could enabling XMP cause future issues or affect performance negatively? Please share your thoughts.

It should work fine, though this explains why quad kits are useful when you need four identical sticks.

You might need to avoid enabling XMP; otherwise, everything should function smoothly regardless of timing or speed.
