My brother is still running AVG on his old HP Pavilion, which I think is slowing things down a lot. I’m moving away from antivirus tools now and prefer MSE (I tried Kaspersky with a trial reset but it got more complicated). I want something that doesn’t rely heavily on the HDD and would make the system run faster than AVG. EDIT: He doesn’t use his laptop much anymore since he switched to a tablet. He usually works on documents, emails, and downloads movies or something similar. Used to be really into computers.

Consider giving it a shot. I didn’t say much about the type of user my brother is.

Bitdefender is easy on the system. It also shields against harmful sites and prevents them from loading.

Malwarebytes now includes Real-Time Scan, which is definitely a valuable antivirus feature.

I've tried Bitdefender before, but I wasn't impressed. Probably because it lacks certain features. Now it seems Avast is the better choice. It offers real-time protection, though you need to purchase it to access those benefits.
