Firefox runs slowly on slower processors. It struggles with fast navigation and launching apps while my Surface Pro 2 is on battery, especially when Windows is in power-saving mode. However, after loading, it performs well for browsing.

I used a machine with 2GB of memory and Firefox performed much better than Chrome.

Yes, IE11 performs better than Firefox for loading most websites and booting up.

The most lightweight option available in a single browser type is Torch. It doesn’t heavily strain your CPU or memory, so you won’t need to switch it anytime soon.
