I've got a solid machine with strong cooling and reliable power, but my performance stays low unless I'm doing intensive tests. The components include a Ryzen 7 2700X, an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, 32GB DDR4 RAM at 3466MHz, an RTX 3070, a 860 EVO 500GB SSD, and a Seagate Barricuda 2TB HDD. When I run benchmarks, my CPU and GPU hit maximum usage, but gaming keeps me around 45% CPU with the GPU. If I play games, the GPU is the bottleneck. I'm not seeing hardware problems, just software limitations, and my frame rates are far below what others on similar systems achieve.

What are the response and refresh rates? How does the CPU utilization look? Is the RAM set up for dual-channel operation? Are there any limits on frames per second or VSync enabled?

Resolution stands at 1920x1080, refresh rate at 144Hz. CPU load remains under 40%. RAM uses dual-channel VSync. Maximum FPS is disabled.

Sorry, 3070 isn't compatible with a 1080p GPU. Even at 2700x it's causing limitations—either get rid of it for profit or upgrade to a 5600x resolution.

Running in Fullscreen can affect how the CPU and GPU perform—some titles slow down if you switch to other modes. Task Manager isn’t the most accurate tool for checking CPU load. Your Ryzen 2700X is an 8-core, 16-thread processor. If a game only needs 4 cores or 8 threads, it might show only about 50% usage. If the game is designed for just 2 cores or 4 threads, you’ll likely see around 25% CPU consumption.

I mostly use EFT and Rust, yet it applies to any game I play. The only time I notice my parts reaching their limits is during benchmarking.

I just started a local raid to demonstrate how the Task Manager appears during gameplay. It's running on EFT, and I was experiencing around 60-70 FPS in the game.

Adjust the display settings in Windows to the recommended refresh rate. When playing in fullscreen mode, the game controls this directly; otherwise, the limits come from Windows. It’s usually around 60Hz.
