While playing games such as Fortnite, Outer Worlds, and Ghostwire Tokyo on my GTX 1070, I experience frame drops consistently in the low 40s to 50s when focusing on areas with buildings. My GPU usage is around 60% while CPU usage fluctuates up to 100% but then drops again. All online benchmarks indicate significantly higher FPS with a setup similar to mine. Here are my specs: GTX 1070, Ryzen 5 2400G, MSI B350m Pro-Vdh, Samsung 2x8 DDR4 at 2666MHz, 2X4 DDR4 at 2400MHz (operating at 2133MHz since XMP isn't enabled), Aerocool 600W 80+ bronze PSU, TwinMOS SATA power supply, 512GB SSD, running Windows 10 Home. I’m confident my machine is using the GTX 1070 rather than a Vega 8 graphics card.

It seems your processor isn’t performing well and your memory is slow. Remember, outdated Ryzens dislike fast RAM.

Which titles? It could be different; low RAM speed doesn’t always ruin performance over time.

I understand this. Running a game like Fortnite at medium settings should keep you playing for a long time without hitting the 30-second mark in tough spots. Roblox tends to lag more too.

Are you checking performance with identical CPUs? Since some GPU tests run on the most powerful CPUs available, it's important to confirm consistency.

Indeed, it does affect older Ryzen processors, and given that esports players often run at lower resolutions like 720p, the sluggish memory performance might be limiting the CPU's speed, especially since a single-core setup is already relatively slow.

Have you tried it before? Yes, I've used it and it doesn't deliver a strong impact to the shin. The 2400g setting isn't very effective at 4GHz.

Same CPU specs, RAM rate, etc., yet improved results in those specific areas

Are the same configurations used? Is the display resolution consistent? Have you refreshed your AMD chipset drivers recently?
