System details: Intel Core i7 10700k @ 3.8Ghz MOBO: MSI Z490 Gaming Edge Wi-Fi RAM: Corsair RGB Gaming Vengance 32Gb @3600Mhz DDR4 PSU: Corsair 850w GPU: Nvidea GTX 1070 (Brand unknown from Acer Prebuilt) OS: Windows 11 Display: 1920 x 1080p @ 240hz VIA Display Port My issue occurs when I move around in games, causing GPU usage and FPS to drop sharply. The following titles were expected to be affected: Squad GHPC Ground Branch Fortnite Warzone 2 (less severe). I've tried several troubleshooting steps: re-seating GPU, applying thermal paste, checking power connections, turning off V-Sync, installing NVIDIA drivers (528.49), updating Windows 11, restarting the computer, and updating the graphics driver with a key bind. Games ran without thermal throttling in DX 11 and DX 12, and no background processes were running. BIOS is fully updated. I tested on another system and it worked fine, though I’m unsure if the problem started after a few days. I’m still uncertain whether it’s a hardware or software problem. If it’s hardware-related, is the 4070ti worth the investment? For software, are there any overlooked steps?
